The Priory Singers are a leading choral group based in the East Neuk of Fife. We mostly sing a cappella but our ever-expanding repertoire also includes items accompanied by piano, organ and string orchestra.
Under our Director, Walter Blair, we regularly perform a wide variety of material at venues throughout the East Neuk. We reherse regularly and new members are always welcome, please contact us for more details.
We are happy to sing at weddings and other special occasions.
Musical Director: Throughout his career Walter Blair has been involved in many aspects of music, particularly as a performer and in music education. In education he has been associated with the training of specialist young musicians, both in schools and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he was on the full-time staff for almost twenty years. He is in much demand as a pianst and accompanist and has performed with many singers and instrumentalists, both on the concert platform and in the recording studio.
He is also well known as an organist, choral trainer, examiner, adjudicator, coach and consultant. One of Scotland’s most versatile musicians, Walter is equally at home in recital, concert or cabaret. In 2001 Walter Blair was awarded an Honourary Fellowship of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (FRSAMD), now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and in the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours List he was awarded the British Empire Medal (medalist of the Order of the British Empire) for services to music.
